The Great Pumpkin

Hey Everyone!

Today, the latest yarn that I ordered from KnittedWit arrived. I ordered a hank of the greatest pumpkin 🎃. It is a Halloween colored hank of yarn.

Beings that this was the second hank of yarn I had ordered recently. I had let the first one sit until this second arrived. It’s kind of a pain to pull out my yarn swift and yarn ball winder to wind my new yarn. I don’t like to pull it out for just one hank.

I wound the spring colored yarn first.

It was a royal pain in the butt to wind, it’s been a while since I have had a hank of yarn that was the difficult to wind. It was so tangled on itself that it took me nearly an hour to wind. It also kept knotting up on itself. I am hoping it is easier to knit up than it was to wind.

Though I am more excited about the pumpkin colored yarn and how that will knit up into socks. I absolutely love autumn, October and all that, even though I am not much into Halloween in and of itself. For Me, Halloween signifies the best time of the year.

I am super excited to see how these socks turn out.

The Christmas Socks

Hey Everyone!

Sunday afternoon I had finished up the Christmas Socks I have been working on.

I used the sock yarn from KnittedWit in Christmas Balls. I used 2.5mm size 1 needles.

I got this pair of socks knit up in a couple of weeks.

I made shorter socks, because this yarn was on the expensive side, so I only ordered one hank of yarn that measured 400 yards.

It’s interesting to see how the colors worked out, and how different the two socks look. They were made from the same hank of yarn.

Second Sock Syndrome

Hey Everyone!

Over the course of the past month, I have been working on three different pairs of socks.

For each of the pairs I have been working on, I have finished the first sock, and have the second sock in the works.

This pouch arrived yesterday. I had ordered it from Thirty One Gifts. I am going to be using it for my knitting, when I take a project with me when I go out. Over the years, I have had many “purse projects”, and having this pouch will help keep my knitting together, neat and as untangled as possible.

I am trying to take advantage of the fact that I am only working 10 – 15 hours a week, and spending my free time knitting, all while I am trying to figure out what I am working towards.

Over the past couple of days I have also knit up a couple of yarn swatches to see how the yarn washes. These Yarns are a bit rough, and I wanted to see if washing would soften them up.

Yes, I did swatch the yarn for my Christmas Socks, because my socks feel a bit tougher than I would like, and I am really hoping they soften up with washing and wearing. I am not a fan of stiff wool socks.
