It’s been a While

Hey Everyone!

It has been a while since I last posted, and Knitting has taken a back seat this past summer. Life just happened

Now that Autumn is here in the Pacific Northwest, in full force, I am working on the projects that have been sitting.

I am really trying to get the projects i have in progress completed, in between life happening. As i have been getting back into knitting, I have realized how much I love and have missed it.

Personal Project Excitement

Hey Everyone!

I am still working on my fishermen’s wool poncho that I have been working on for a bit for myself. I am using two skeins of Lion Brand Fishermen’s Wool in Oak Tweed. I am knitting it in two pieces and then I am going to link the two pieces together.

I have also started a pair of fingerless gloves for myself. I had purchased some yarn a while back intending it for one purpose but then deciding to not use it for that project. I finally figured out what I want to use it for. I found an easy knit flat pattern on pinterest that I am basing my gloves off of. I love trying new things, and making my own knitwear. I get a better quality garment for a lower cost. Beings that make this stuff for myself, the labor that goes into making items for myself is totally worth it for the money I save on buying the yarn and doing it myself. For these gloves I am using Premier Yarns Deborah Norville Collection Serenity Garden Yarn in Gems.

Beings that today is the first day of school for the kids in the school districts here where I live. That gets me even more excited for the fall and winter projects that I am working on. As the weather is still warm/hot at the moment, I still have some time to get these projects done, but Fall is right around the corner.

I have also recently been spending a lot of time on Pinterest looking at knitwear and getting project ideas and just seeing what other people have made. It is kind of addicting to a knitter.

Fall is Coming!

Hey Everyone!

I know it has been a couple of weeks since my last post, I have been busy. The week right after my last post I was crew leader for Vacation Bible School at church, and this past week I had jury duty for 3 days.

Now that I have had a few days back into the swing of knitting, and back to my normal life, I have really noticed that Fall is definitely in the air. I started smelling it in the air a couple of weeks ago. Where I live, the transition from summer into fall often starts with a few of the leaves starting to turn colors a little bit, followed by a change in the way the air smells. It is hard to describe unless you have experienced it yourself. Early fall has its own unique smell.

Since Thursday I have been spending a lot of time working on the size 10 sweater that I have had in the works for a bit. I am working on the back sleeves, and it is nearing completion, which I am excited about.

After I am done with my sweater, I want to get the poncho I am working on done, and get it linked, washed and dried. I am excited for the prospect of having it done in time for when the weather actually gets cooler so I can actually wear it. I am also planning on spending some time working on infant hats, since I have a lot of three ply baby yarn sitting around. While I don’t know for sure where I will be sending the infant hats, I have an idea of where I would like to send them to be put to use.

Beings that the weather is starting to cool off, I am so ready to dive into more (and larger) knitting projects.
