Snowy Pine Socks

Hey Everyone!

Yesterday, I finally finished up the pair of Snowy Pine socks I have been working on for the past month.

It’s been a crazy month. I finished out working freight, completely switched up my schedule going from working nights to working days. I started at my new store this past week, and trying to be healthier.

Snowy Pine is the colorway of this yarn, it is on the coquette sock yarn base from Bumblebee Acres Fiber Farm.

I have been working through my Christmas themed yarn I have in my stash. I am trying to get all my Christmas socks knit up before moving on to other yarn I have. I still have a few more pairs to go. Though with my schedule of my new job, I have a little time in the afternoons and evenings to work on my knitting and get a few rounds done. The second sock knit up a lot quicker than the first because of this change in my schedule.

Little Drummer Boy

Hey Everyone!

Last night I finally finished up the pair of “Little Drummer Boy” socks I had been working on for a while.

The yarn is from Forbidden Fiber Co, the colorway is “Little Drummer Boy” and the colorway is on the pride yarn base.

Of the Christmas colorways I had ordered, this colorway was the most “boring” of them all, or the one I liked the least. So I decided to use it first and get it knit up, and then move on to the yarns I liked better.

Now that I have enough Christmas yarn to have 13 pairs of Christmas Socks, or more than enough to do 12 days of Christmas with a different pair of socks every day, I am working on getting the yarn I have knit up. Though I am still waiting on a knitpicks order that has a little bit of sock yarn in it, though it is mainly more DPN’s. I will be sharing that when it arrives.

Call the Midwife season 11

Hey Everyone!

Happy Thursday!

I had taken a couple nights off of work last weekend to go do something fun. It was nice to have a couple extra nights off, though it’s back to work tonight.

I had ordered Season 11 of Call the Midwife, and it arrived last week. Since I have been off, I binged watched the entire season / series in about 2.5 days, as well as rewatched the Season 9 Christmas Special.

While there are other ways to watch Call the Midwife here in the states, the easiest for me is to just order each season once it is released and watch it when I have time. I had also gotten into the show a few seasons into in and had no other way to watch it besides on DVD. Now that it is on Netflix, I have also noticed that there are little edits here and there and the episode isn’t the same as the U.K. version, which is what comes on DVD. I also enjoy going back and rewatching previous seasons as well.

Call the Midwife is one of those shows that I thoroughly enjoy. Over the past ten or so years, since I got started watching Downton Abbey, I found that I enjoy British TV shows.

While I have been off and watching Call the Midwife, I have been working like gangbusters on my Road to Rhinebeck socks. I finished up the first one and I am now on the foot of the second sock. This pair will be done in no time, and then I can start Christmas Socks.

What’s on My Needles Wednesday

Hey Everyone!

It’s been a while since I have written a “What’s on my Needles Wednesday” post. It has also been far too long since I posted regularly here.

Today was one of those days where I was able to spend the entire day knitting and making significant progress on my current pair of socks.

I had started this sock before I finished my last pair. Though most of the progress I have made has been since I finished that pair.

I am currently working on this year’s “Road to Rhinebeck” sock set from Bumblebee Acres Fiber Farm. This colorway is on the Coquette yarn base.

The Coquette yarn base happens to be my favorite from Bumblebee Acres. It’s thick for a fingering weight, making it warm and cozy. It makes the perfect cold weather socks.

Kodiak: The Beginnings

Hey Everyone!

Before I had even finished my last pair of socks, I had cast on this sock.

This is the Kodiak Colorway, on the Figment yarn base from Deep Dyed Yarns.

I had this company and yarn base recommended to me by one of you, my readers, I am am glad you did. I have been enjoying working with this yarn.

I am also loving this colorway. It kind of makes me think of the Northern Lights, which I would love to see in person.

I have been glad to have something to work on while I have been off recovering from being in the Hospital last week. I am doing better now, but still trying to figure out the why it happened and what is going on / source of my symptoms. Having knitting helps keep me sane and calm amid the craziness and and insanity that is life sometimes.

I have definitely been looking at where I am at and what I am doing. I am trying to get healthy now, and I am taking it seriously now. Knitting will continue and always be a part of my life, and part of me getting healthy.

With getting healthy, I want to spend more time outdoors, and work my way back up to hiking. That is part of where my socks come in, warm cozy socks are important for year round hiking in this part of the country.

Strawberry Fields

Hey Everyone!

Today I finished up the pair of Strawberry Fields Socks.

The yarn is one from my stash. The colorway is on Coquette yarn base from Bumblebee Acres Fiber Farm.

This colorway is from a spring collection from a few years ago. When I cast it on, I was in the mood for something springy.

I have been off work this past week to take care of my health. Knitting has been part of my day as I try to recover.
