Working Hard and Projects I am working on

Hey Everyone!

Between constantly being at work, being exhausted from work, eating and sleeping, it has definitely been a struggle to fit in knitting.

The first weekend of this month, I came down with a cold. I had to call out of work a couple days last week. As I was starting to feel better, but still home sick, I made a fair amount of progress on the second Heirloom Pumpkin Sock I was working on. I finally got the second sock finished up yesterday, since I was off.

I had been wanting this colorway for several months, before it was brought back and I was able to order a hank for myself. I ordered the Heirloom Pumpkin colorway on the Fortitude Base from Forbidden Fiber Company.

I also started the next pair of socks. I grabbed the hank of Campfire colored yarn, on the Gluttony Sock Yarn base. It is also from Forbidden Fiber Company.

Today, I have watched a few vlogs, filmed in Southeast Alaska, and it’s still the dream that I am working for. I am dreaming of moving up to Southeast Alaska. This is part of why I am knitting up socks. I also have another project I want to make, that would be amazing to have done, before moving to a colder climate. I am also wanting to order a pie of xtratuf rain boots, while not absolutely necessary here in Portland, would definitely make some winter adventures more enjoyable, and are pretty much necessary in Southeast Alaska.

Goals for the rest of 2015

Hey Everyone!

Now that I have gifts taken care of, I figure that it is time to really figure out what I want to get done in the way of charity knitting for this year.

This year I will complete five sweaters, including the one I am currently working on. I will also use up the balls of yarn I have sitting on my floor, as well as what is left over from the sweaters I knit this year, for hats for children in India.

I am currently working on a size ten sweater. I am working to cumulatively have the same number of each size sweater made. I will need to make one more size 6 sweater, two size 8 sweaters and one more size 10 sweater (in addition to the one I am currently working on) to have fourteen of each size of sweater. From there I want to go to making sets (a sweater of each size), and keep my sweater totals the same across the board.

I have several good size balls of yarn sitting around that are really too small for sweaters, but work great for making hats, which is what I plan to use them for. I am wanting to get them used up and made into something that will be sent to children living in poverty.

New Years Goals

Hey Everyone!

The year has begun, and I already have a few projects that I know will help take up what little free time I have now that I am working full time.

The first is that I am still trying to finish my mom’s Christmas gift, which I have almost complete. I should have it done by the end of the week.

I also have a baby gift for one of my cousins to make, which I am excited about, and it will be easier than the project that I have been working on for my mom for the last several months.

This year I am also going to set aside time to write three blog posts a week, one each for my life blog, my food blog and for this blog in addition a monthly blog post and vlog for my adventure blog and youtube channel. I know I am setting myself some challenges, but I want to meet if not exceed those goals.

I also want to thank those of you who follow my blog, and I appreciate you all sticking with me over the last couple months as I have not had the time to blog, and have let them slack from what I have been up to. For now I am not going to be able to keep the 5 posts a week on this blog that I had done last spring after my last job hadn’t worked out. I am hoping that with writing one or two post a week for each of my blogs, I have quality posts with good content for you all to read.
